Emeline Herbreteau

Emeline joined ASA as a tour coordinator in 2006, bringing with her an extensive and eclectic knowledge of the travel industry. In her native France she completed a Bachelor of Tourism Studies in Paris in 1999, and worked as a guide on the Vedettes du Pont Neuf. In Caracas, Venezuela, a country she visited a number of times during the four years her parents were based there, she trained as a travel agent. As well as being a bilingual French-English speaker, Emeline speaks fluent Spanish, acquired from travelling and working in Spanish-speaking cultures in Spain and Latin America (including Peru & Bolivia). Since moving to Australia in 2000, Emeline has added to her linguistic bow a smattering of Portuguese and Thai, a language she majored in as part of a Bachelor of Asian Studies she completed at ANU (2005). In 2004 Emeline spent a year in Thailand as part of the Australian Youth Ambassador for Development (AYAD) program - AusAID initiative where she worked with local government helping develop tourism in the province of Chonburi, southeast of Bangkok. As a child of expat parents, Emeline has also lived in China, Indonesia and Burma, as well as having travelled independently to many parts of the globe, including South Africa, Namibia & Scandinavia. Since joining ASA she has accompanied groups on Al-Maghrib al-Aqsa: Islamic Civilization in Morocco (2007), Andalucia: Christians & Muslims in Southern Spain (2008), and Gardens, Villages & Châteaux of Northwestern France (2009).
