Ann Roberts

Ann Roberts holds an M.A. in Languages and Fine Arts from Trinity College Dublin, and is an Approved Commonwealth Valuer (Australia) in the fields of Chinese, Japanese and S.E. Asian Ceramics and Works of Art.

Ann has worked for over 25 years in the art world, in the fields of Asian Ceramics and Works of Art and Australian Painting. She spent thirteen years with Sotheby's in London, principally in the Chinese Department. Ann was one of the founding members of Sotheby's Australia, a former Director of Sotheby's Australia, and Deputy Director of Sotheby's Asia.

In 1995 she moved to San Francisco and was a Consultant in Asian Arts for Sotheby's New York. From 1996 to 1999 she worked at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, assisting the Associate Curator of Chinese Arts and as a participant in their Docent Course, a three-year program focusing on the history of Asian Arts.

Since 2008 Ann has been the Asian Arts Consultant at Sotheby's Australia. She has been a Voluntary Guide at the National Gallery of Victoria since 2005.

Ann has successfully led five tours to China for ASA, including Wild China: Guanxi, Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet in 2010.
