David Pearlman

Born in the United States, David moved to Cyprus in 1977. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classics (University of Cincinnati) and a Master of Arts in Archaeology and Soil Science (University of Minnesota). Fluent in both English and Greek, David has worked as a field archaeologist in Sicily and Cyprus, and has led archaeological, history and trekking tours for over 30 years.

David was Area Supervisor for the Vasilikos Valley Project excavations of Neolithic and Bronze Age settlement and cemetery sites at Kalavasos. He also worked as a consultant to the Canadian Palaipaphos Survey Project in Kouklia which discovered and mapped well over 100 new sites of all periods. He has also been an Excavator/Area Supervisor on various archaeological projects including the Late Bronze Age site of Agios Dimitrios, Kissonerga-Mosphilia, Peyia-Maa-Paliokastro, Pyla-Kokkinokremmos and the Kato Paphos Helenistic/Roman Tomb Rescue Excavations.

David has written numerous articles for magazines, newspapers and archaeological publications and contributed to TV documentaries on Cypriot tourism. David joins ASA in 2023 to share his passion and knowledge of Cyprus.
