The Wealthy World of Bronze Age Cyprus
presented by Dr Christopher Gribbin, introduced by Susannah Fullerton
The Late Bronze Age was a period of prosperity and transformation for the island of Cyprus. Thanks to its abundant copper deposits and its position on trade routes, Cyprus was a crucial part of an international community that included Egyptians, Hittites, Mycenaean Greeks and others. This talk will explore the culture that developed on Cyprus during this period, which is a fascinating blend of these cultures, mixed together with some distinctly Cypriot elements to create something unique.
Recorded during a live-streamed Zoom presentation, this video has been carefully edited to deliver the experience of being part of an audience and having the best seat in the house.
